I was at the County Legislative meeting last night and the first topic of interest came amidst the public comment with John D'Antonio asking for a waiver for Karate guru, Tony Butler. D'Antonio got my attention when he started vouching for one of his City of Albany directors....my ears perked when I thought, not realizing he was talking about Butler, he was talking about Jerrick Jones (more on his soon!) and the Albany boxing program. Surprise, surprise, D'Antonio was supporting Tony to bring his wonderful karate program which I spent some time with a few years ago, to the entire County. This better be a go...stop playing around and forget the boxing program, get your kids in the County’s Karate program.
The public comment was followed with two "emergency" committee meetings, Audit and Finance and Personnel...wonder what that was about? (Smirk)
And with not so much of a surprise, Resolution 321 was approved....the wonderful Karate Program, with Tony Butler, will be brought to the youth across Albany County.
