HR Defends County Budget

We had to wake up Bob Conway at 9:10 to have him present his budget after a long tedious night of nitpicking budget lines. He asks from his seat,we are "can I answer from here." It draws a laugh and I discover that we may all have had a long evening.

I love this guy...he's funny even when he talks about the budget.

Mendick questions a supply line that is consistently budget at $2500 more than what is spent. Sure, it's a small amount, but, hey, ya gotta ask. Seems the postage is the same and the suggestion is made to tighten it up...he agrees.

As he has every department, Mr. Ethier asks about the insurance line item. The questions are asked..."how many cars and blackberries?" "None, Conway answers." He is asked how he functions without them...perhaps there was a little sarcasm in that last question.

Bullock asks how Conway is losing "one half of one" employee? Morse says..."just his legs."
