The TU recently published an article on the “release” of Michael Klein, Chief of the Albany Parking Authority. The article notes that no reason is given by the APA Board for the forced leave and future termination. This mystery, however, can be easily solved.
I have met Mr. Klein, I have attended parking meetings a-plenty…and he is an impressive guy. Now, I admit I’ve never been obsessed with parking as I have a pedestrian/public transportation obsession and I can’t spread my little mind too far, but Klein is OBSESSED with parking…and not just Albany Parking, he is a nationally recognized authority on parking.

I play by the rules…but anyone who knows me knows that those rules being applied to me better damn well apply to everyone else. For instance, when the Democrats held control of the Senate Chamber, I was suddenly prohibited from using my laptop in the chamber after an article that was not too favorable to the “majority.” (Yeah, I relayed the honest truth of the chamber games!) However, every other person in the peanut gallery was permitted to, not only bring the laptop into the chamber, they were permitted to utilize it.
The day after the GOP regained the reins, the freedom of honest reporting was returned to the chamber…for everyone….but I was mostly alone in my triumph.
It is with this inconsistent application of rules that my attention is drawn to the Albany County Board of Elections and their treatment of the politically unfavorable candidates. Case in point, Sam Coleman.
Coleman was challenging the politically docile Mert Simpson (docile being a favorable trait for a political pawn) when he became the victim of Albany politics. I was advised by an insider that the immediate response to Coleman’s challenge was “David” (DA Soares) would take care of him. (And that’s not a good thing for candidates opposing the politically favored.) So, I sat back watched the progress.

This morning I read the TU article about Shawn Morse’s opponent for Mayor of Cohoes, Dianne Nolan (with support from Assemblyman John McDonald), declining to seek support from the City Democrat Committee because, in a nutshell, her opponent is bullying the Committee members.
Dear Ms. Nolan, I have a feeling I know who advised you to take the strategy and I see it as a “chicken shit” move (as we say in Texas.) You know you’re going to lose the election….and you’re going to lose big. Cohoes is the last bastion of old-Albany politics and that old bullying
you suggest isn’t even needed there anymore.
Shawn Morse has a lock on this and with the press release you sent out, you embarrassed yourself with a whine. Think about it, Canvassing the committee is what candidates do…you know you didn’t have support because you were doing what you are accusing Mr. Morse of doing.
Morse, on the other hand, has no need to canvas the Committee because he has a lock on the Committee…..he has for a long time. That’s how it works. Seems to be there was an over-estimate of Nolan support and it’s too late to exit the election. So, from here on out, it appears the strategy will be to dirty up Morse for future elections.
Hey, whatever floats the prog boat. Just know that this act was sheer cowardice. I’ve always called Morse a bully, that doesn’t mean I don’t like him. Ya see, I’d rather have someone in the Mayor’s seat that is tough as nails and not someone who is only able to stand on their own two feet “for the people” when they have some prog leader bolstering their ego and guiding their actions.
Go back to your sheepherding or whatever it is cowards do when they aren’t making accusations….and grow a pair.

I feel I’ve become immune to most election campaign literature and signage. Now, it’s just cute when the candidates tells me, or announces on Facebook, “I might not win the election but I have the best signs.” Ya gotta love that attitude, especially when the candidate is running unopposed. (You know who you are!)
With that said, there is one campaign sign that is a refreshing burst of honesty. It showed up on my EVO a few months ago and I don’t know who actually sent it to me but it is my favorite campaign sign of all time so I must share. This sign is the genius of my
boyfriend friend, Ralph Signoracci, who, as part of Cohoes Royalty, and is running for County Legislature to fill the seat of Shawn Morse, who is running for Mayor of Cohoes. (I’m betting 80/20 on that win…same as my County Exec bet!)

I was with some political folks the other night lamenting the epic fail the quality of Albany’s elected officials. Not all of them mind you, just some. Last night, I was reminded of how nasty one such elected can be. Ya see, Joyce Love, elected by the people to the 108th District of the New York State Committee as the “lesser evil” over Wanda Willingham, has harassed me by both phone and texts when she didn’t like what I wrote about her.
I must say, the harassment I suffered was not as nasty as her most recent attack on Common Councilman, Ron Bailey, but I know by experience that she is a very tenacious harasser. In case you didn’t know, there is bloody political battle developing in the County’s 2nd Legislative District. The sides are clear, and Love makes them even more clear in her below texts to Bailey. It appears the only pol Love doesn’t inject in the harassment is Sheriff Apple.
Behold the illiterate vitriol of your elected official Joyce Love in texts to Councilman Bailey:
Fwd: over the last few years I found out how stupid you are you don't stick with anyone long just 4 years ago you were against Wanda and Carol and 2 years
