Who Will Run For County Clerk?
- Published on Monday, April 22 2013, 10:32 AM
Rumor has it my County Legislator, Chris Higgins, is interested running for County Clerk…go figger! Do you think Higgins is getting tired of representing me…his constituent? (Sit tight…I gotta knock this laugh out of my system.) Really folks, I’ve got absolutely no representation at any level of legislature. My representatives are Richard Conti (who, apparently does not own a phone…or an ear), Higgins (prog), Fahy (prog), Breslin (prog) and Tonko (King Prog). Make no mistake, these people do not stand by the tenets of the Democratic Party.
Sorry, got a little sidetracked.
So, lets look at this…If Higgins won the seat he’d first need to hire someone to do the work for him…next, he’d be sitting in the “three men in a room” Contract Administration Board. Please see the “White hat/Black hat” article to clarify that reason for Higgins run. In addition, as Clerk, Higgins would have access to all the secrets…all the FOIL request…he would be the keeper of the Legislator’s secrets.
Miss Me Yet?

Yes, yes, I know you are missing my quick as lighting posts, my coverage of the Courtroom from “inside” the courtroom…I know you miss knowing what the Courthouse Café is serving for their lunchtime special but I’ve gotta pay the bills…and while I’ve got many requests, demands, complaints and compliments…I’ve got few donations and limited advertisers.
I have taken a day time job and won’t be reporting for you until the financials are in place….I guess you’re just going to have to convince the TU that accurate coverage is demanded…or you could support my efforts. Yes, folks, that means donate!! That means advertise…the pats on the back are nice and appreciated but…come on…I’m providing a service and it’s costing me…show your appreciation in a tangible way!
Sheriff: Motorcycle Handgun Arrest

From the Sheriff (sorry if this was already out there but I don't remember seeing it so here it is) Besides, this guy looks just too happy to miss!!:
The Albany County Sheriff’s Office reports the arrest of a subject on Drug and Weapon possession.
Sheriff’s Investigators executed a search warrant at 187 Bradford St in the City of Albany regarding stolen dirt bikes. Two stolen dirt bikes have been recovered and several others have been confiscated until the owners have been contacted. This investigation led Investigators to execute a second search warrant at 225 McCormack Road North in the Town of Bethlehem.
Marsolais: Ending the Betrayal
- Published on Sunday, April 21 2013, 1:27 PM
I will be supporting John Marsalais for Common Council President…and that took absolutely no contemplation. I know both candidates well, and I know more about the incumbent than I’m going to share with you today…but, don’t worry, I’ll get to the rest of it later.
But, what is apparent, what is obvious is that Ms. McLaughlin is a portrait of betrayal. I was arguing with some politicos regarding her ability to deliver the vote…well, yeah, in 2009 she ran against a candidate I was able to demonize…and the press was willing to demonize. She had alternative plans to dirty him up, but she would have to admit that I took care of her opponent for her. And she betrayed me.
In 2012, McLaughlin, as an officer of the County Democratic Committee, ran against the winner of the Democratic Primary….she ran against her own party for NYS Assembly. After John McDonald won the primary, she ran on the Working Family Party line…still, she lost. I was told to look at those numbers…pointing to her ability to get out her vote. Might I point out, McLaughlin pulled her votes from a neighborhood which Mr. McDonald was never going to win…an area in which he, if properly advised, would never have spent time campaigning. In 2012, McLaughlin betrayed the Democratic Party.
Sheriff Intros Video Conferencing
- Published on Saturday, April 20 2013, 4:29 PM
From the Sheriff:
On May 01, 2013 the Albany County Correctional Facility will kick off inmate video visitation. This program comes at no expense to the taxpayer, and will allow inmates to contact family members or friends using the technology similar to SKYPE. The intent of the program is to allow more communication outside the facility, and hopefully diminish the amount of visitors going to the facility daily. The program will also be offered to clinicians and lawyers who frequently need to speak with a client.
During the week of April 25, 2013 registration will be open to sign up for the video visits. Click Here for Details!
Although it is not our intent to do away with contact visits, hopefully many of our visitors will take advantage of the video visitation program. The fewer visitors our facility has, the less chance of contraband being introduced, as well as assaults on staff.
